At SCOM, we are proud to offer a comprehensive and professional aviation medical service from a Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) appointed Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME). Our team understand the strict guidelines and standards that must be met for pilots and air traffic controllers to remain certified, and we are committed to providing a personalised and efficient service to ensure that your medical needs are met in a timely manner.
From initial assessments to ongoing certification of class 1, 2 and 3 medical certificates, we have the expertise and knowledge to support you throughout your career in aviation.
Additional tests including ECG and screening audiometry are available on site. We also have a pathology centre next door.
Class 1 medical certificate:
Class 1 medical certificates are valid for up to 1 year.
Class 1 medicals may require additional tests such as ECG, audiogram and fasting bloods. (see CASA AvMed Reference Chart)
Class 2 medical certificate:
Class 2 medical certificates are valid for up to 4 years for those under 40, and up to 2 years for those 40 and over.
There are no additional test requirements for Class 2 medical certificates, unless clinically indicated.
Class 3 medical certificate:
Class 3 medical certificates are valid for up to 2 years.
Class 3 medicals may require additional tests such as ECG, audiogram and fasting bloods. (see CASA AvMed Reference Chart)
