Miners are at an increased risk of a range of mine dust lung diseases (MDLD) including coal worker’s pneumoconiosis (CWP). The Coal Mine Workers’ Health Scheme aims to protect the health of Queensland coal mine workers through mandated health assessments. These assessments must be performed by a Resources Safety & Health Queensland (RSHQ) approved Examining Doctor.
Queensland mineral mine & quarry workers must also undergo respiratory health surveillance performed by an appropriate doctor such as an RSHQ approved Examining Doctor.
We are fortunate to have an RSHQ registered radiology practice locally who can arrange the required dual read ILO chest x-rays.
